Alice White Palmer, a beloved member of our community, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, in her home in Houma, Louisiana. Born on July 17, 1926, in Dulac, Louisiana, Alice lived a life full of love, laughter, and hard work. She was a devoted mother, cherished friend, and a shining spirit who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Alice is survived by her children, Rose Palmer Guidroz (late husband Kent), Betty Palmer Comer (Roger), Sally Palmer Magsam (Jeffrey), Ricky John Palmer (Dedrich); siblings, Nolan White and Oletta Chatagnier; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents, Nicklos White, Sr. and Eva Fanguy White; siblings, Elie White, Cecile Gautier; Floyd White, Nicklos "June" White, Jr., Julius "Red" White, Edith Hotard, Eula Bourg, and Inez Dupre; son-in-law, Kent Guidroz; great grandsons, Trevis Michael Lirette, Jr., Ja'san Glynn Ross.
Alice's dedication to her family was unparalleled; her greatest joy came from nurturing her children whom she adored. She was a hardworking woman who embraced the challenges of entrepreneurship, successfully running her own restaurant for 15 years. Alice was also an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary and held the title of Queen of Bayou Boulette, sharing her warmth and kindness with everyone she met.In her leisurely pursuits, Alice found joy in cooking for others, playing bingo, and had a heartfelt passion for collecting angels, each holding a special meaning in her life. Her positive outlook on life and unwavering faith brought comfort not only to her but also to those around her. A Public Viewing will be held at Chauvin Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate her warm spirit and share cherished memories. A visitation will continue at Holy Family Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, beginning at 9:00 A.M. to at 11:00 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Alice will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith will forever be etched in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
