Alice "Carolyn" Saldi

Alice "Carolyn" Saldi went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a valiant battle with cancer on June 15, 2024. Carolyn was born on April 9, 1943 in Springfield, Massachusetts to the late Albert and Alice DuBois.
Carolyn graduated from Fisher Junior College in Boston and began a career as a typist in the mid-1960's. She soon met her husband-to-be and embarked on an exciting marriage that had her family move 22 times across 4 continents. A devoted mother and homemaker as well as avid traveler, Carolyn loved experiencing new cultures, trying new foods, and making new friends. She kept in touch with friends in the ~40 countries she visited/lived. After her husband retired, she began a career with GMAC Mortgage where she made more friends.
Equally important to her love of family and travel was her desire to help others. Carolyn was a regular volunteer at the Jerry Lewis Telethon as well as several nursing homes, children's homes, and mental institutions. Through her volunteer work with her sorority, Beta Sigma Phi, as well as the Red Hatter's Club and her church, Carolyn won many awards for her charitable work, even being named "Man of the Year" by the Sons of Italy.
Carolyn was not one to talk about the many good works in which she participated. A quiet and kind woman, Carolyn was beloved for keeping confidences, supporting others, and exuding joy. Many fondly recall her mantra of, "Be happy."
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 58 years, Raymond Joseph Saldi; son Raymond Joseph Saldi, Jr; daughter Dr. Suzanne Garber (Christopher); granddaughter Arianna Saldi; brother Robert DuBois (Suzanne); nieces Nichole Tinglof (Steve), Monique DuBois, Renee DuBois; nephew Andre DuBois (Meghan); and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life is planned at North Beach Vineyard Church, 2250 Premier Resort Blvd, North Myrtle Beach for July 7 at 2pm that will be livestreamed.
