Alice Loraine Smith, aged 76, of Paragould, passed away on February 18, 2025. Born on September 2, 1948, in Plumerville, Arkansas, Alice was a beloved sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to her family and her faith.
Alice was a devoted homemaker who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She cherished the time spent camping and embarking on road trips with her loved ones, always seeking adventure and connection. Her passion for gardening provided her with a sense of tranquility, allowing her to cultivate both plants and cherished memories. Above all, she reveled in the moments shared with her family, especially her great-granddaughter, Beulah Goforth, nurturing bonds that will forever remain in their hearts. Alice's unwavering dedication to her Baptist faith guided her through life, instilling in her the values of love, compassion, and community.
She is survived by her brother, James "Doyne" Garrett, his wife, Betty Garrett, her grandchild, Jaime (Elizabeth Cook) Goforth, and her great-granddaughter, Beulah Goforth.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Garrett and Beulah Koonce, her daughter Beth Woods, and her siblings: William Charles Garrett and Elizabeth Martin.
The family will honor Alice's memory with a funeral service to be held at Heath Funeral Home on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Bro. Boyce Cate will officiate the service, celebrating Alice's life and the love she imparted to those around her. A time of visitation will precede the funeral, beginning at 12:00 PM. Alice will be laid to rest at Shiloh Cemetery in Paragould.
The family invites all who knew Alice to join in celebrating her life and the enduring legacy of love she leaves behind. Alice will be deeply missed but will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
