Janice Smith Obituary
Janice married Joseph M. Smith on November 14, 1959, in Wahoo, Nebraska and in 1960 their daughter Lisa was born. The three of them traveled around the country until settling in Carlisle in 1968. In 1978 she began her career at Mercy Hospital ER department in Des Moines. She retired from Mercy in 1997.
After retirement she and Joe moved to Sun City West in Arizona, where they resided until 2018 when they moved back to Iowa to be closer to Lisa.
Janice is survived by her daughter Lisa Smith, sister-in-law Patricia Fronk, many nieces, nephews and a long list of cherished friends.
Janice requested no memorial service be held, there will be a graveside service at the Highland Cemetery in Iola, Kansas on July 12, 2025. Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice in honor of Janice.
