Alice "Cookie" M. Smith, 80, of Camby, Indiana passed away November 30, 2025 at home. She was born May 17, 1945 in a log cabin in Commiskey, Indiana, daughter of the late Paul F. and Alice Bernice Broughard Baker.
Survivors include her husband Lowell "Butch" Smith; daughter, Cindy Parker if Camby, Indiana; son, Bryan (Kim) Smith of Bowling Green, Indiana; brother, Carl (Sherry) Baker of Clayton, Indiana; sister-in-laws, Sandra (Paul) Baker, Patty (Larry) Baker; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Larry Baker and Paul Baker; her son, Lowell "Bugg" Smith; her grandson, Jacob Dalton; and her niece, Katherine Baker.
Alice loved her flower gardens, reading, doing puzzles, her family, bird watching, yard sales, and she loved road trips.
A funeral service honoring Alice will be held Friday, December 12 at 12 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions located at 925 East Hanna Avenue Indianapolis 46227. Burial will follow at West Newton Cemetery. Friends may gather for visitation from 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
