Alice Faye Scruggs Spence went to her heavenly home on April 29, 2024. She was born on October 13, 1938 to Ruby and Robert M. Scruggs in Antioch, White County, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl K. Spence, her parents, two brothers and a stepdaughter.
Alice is survived by two daughters: Morrisa Baty Pruett of Greenbrier, and Sandy Baty Rogers (Bill) of Beebe; two sons: Michael Baty (Donna) of Sylvania and David Spence of Ward; three step-daughters: Leane Jones (Carlos) of Cocklebur Community, Darla Haney (J.R.) of Lonoke and Kim Dyson (Tim) of Austin; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Alice enjoyed life and brought ease, warmth and guaranteed laughter into the conversations because of her smile, quick wit and charm. She truly “never met a stranger”. She enjoyed yard selling, flea marketing, crafting, quilting, and sharing her one-of-a-kind treasures with those that were special to her.
Alice and her husband, Earl “K” were Charter Members of Country Chapel and faithfully attended until their health no longer permitted. Alice loved the Lord as her Savior and cherished her favorite verse, John 3:16.
After retiring from many years as a beautician at Alice Faye’s Beauty Shop and Fred’s Department Store, she enjoyed time at home in her sewing room, fishing, gardening and tending the cows with K.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Country Chapel, 3000 Hwy 321 North, Ward. Interment will follow at Sylvania Cemetery. Pallbearers include: William Giblet, Scott Moore, Layne Baty, Hunter Spence, Jay Merkel and Daniel Hillian.Memorials may be made to Country Chapel Church, PO Box 1270, Cabot.
