Barbara Gail McCool Blucker, 73, began her life on January 12, 1953, in Sherwood, Arkansas. She spent her childhood days riding bikes around Oak Hill circle and her teenage years at the skating rink in Sylvan Hills.
She married her high school sweetheart, James Blucker and moved to Runyan Acres to raise their family, be a great momma to her two girls, Christa and MiChelle and the best “Grannie” and “Nennie” to her grandkids, Emily, Samantha, and Riley.
Gail was a member of Kellogg Valley Baptist Church for 20+ years and a founding member of the Runyan Acres Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, playing games on her iPad, going to Travelers baseball games, water aerobics and yoga at the local community center and most of all spending time with her grandkids.
Her early career had her right by her sister’s side at North Hills Florist until she “retired” from that to be an advocate for landlord/tenant rights and fair housing laws. Gail and James managed property in the Sherwood, Jacksonville, and Cabot areas. She served as a member of the North Little Rock and Jacksonville Landlord Associations, was cofounder of Landlord Association of Arkansas, and was the Arkansas sales rep for Tenant Data, promoting and providing tenant background checks.
God decided it was time for the lease to expire on her rented body here on Earth. It was time for her to move to a new and better place where the lease never expires, and everything is paid for in advance.
Upon settling into her new home, she will leave behind her daughter MiChelle Moore, three grandkids, Emily Moore, Samantha Mosley (Trevor), Riley Darr (Layla), her older sister June Owen (Joe), her baby cousin Ken Boyle (Alice), Sister-in-Law Diane Hamilton, Brother-in-Law David Blucker (Virginia), her “one-of-a-kind” niece Vicki Jo McCourt, and several other nieces, nephews, dear classmates and close friends.
God called her on February 26, 2026 and her new home is “move in ready”. She will reunite with her parents GW and Virginia McCool, her beloved husband of 51 years James Blucker, her oldest daughter Christa Darr, her brother Wayne McCool, her sister Cecy King, and nephew Danny Owen.
Services officiated by Bro. Paul Rice.
Family will receive friends 6-8pm on Thursday March 5, 2026 at the Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rest Hills Cemetery, in North Little Rock.
