John William Blucker, 91, Sturgis, MI, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
Born May 8, 1933, in Arthur, IL, to Jacob and Lydia Blucker, John's early childhood was rooted in the Amish faith until age 13, when his parents embraced the Mennonite faith.
John's journey took him to northern Indiana, where he worked alongside his brother, Marty, at an implement store in Nappanee, IN. It was there that he met his beloved wife, Evelyn Richer, and they were united in marriage on February 2, 1958, in Goshen, IN.
John's professional path led him to serve as purchasing agent at Fan Coach RV, manager of Amigo Park, and maintenance director at Amigo Centre for over 30 years.
His heartbeat for his Christian faith, family, friends, and community. John's legacy lives on through his devotion to his loved ones, his enthusiasm for life's joys, and his unwavering commitment to his faith. He was always up for a good time and enjoyed following grandchildren and great-grandchildren to sporting events and discussing life events with his coffee crew at Five Lakes. John was a long-time member of Locust Grove Church, in Burr Oak, MI.
John's family cherishes the memories of his love and guidance.
He is survived by his son, Greg (Brenda) Blucker; daughter, Sheila (Caz) Moore both of Sturgis, Mi; three grandchildren, Stefanie (Charlie) Patrick of Sturgis, Mi, Hilary (Daniel) Roberts of Middlebury, IN, and Chelsea (Scott) Bailey of Sturgis, MI. Eight great-grandchildren, Taner, Chloe, Roselyn, Thomas, Theodore, Lydia, Lincoln, and Layna Evelyn; one sister, Maranna (Jake) Chupp of Mt. Zion, IL and several nieces and nephews. While he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in the knowledge that he is now at peace with his Lord.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Blucker; parents; brother: Marty Blucker; three sisters: Irene Yoder, Katie Yoder, Lizzie Beachy.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Three Rivers Home Health & Hospice for their exceptional care.
The family invites friends to celebrate John's life, as they gather from 2:00-4:00 P.M., Sunday, March 30th at Locust Grove Church, 29525 Findley, Rd., Burr Oak, MI. Funeral services honoring John's life will immediately follow the visitation at 4:00 P.M. Pastor Matt Yoder will officiate. The funeral service will be livestreamed on YouTube Locust Grove Church. In accordance with John's wishes cremation will follow the service.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
