Mr. Dale A. Blucker, 85, of Galesburg, Illinois died 4:15 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Allure of Lake Storey, Galesburg.
He was born June 4, 1937, in Galesburg to Ragnar and Maurine A. (Sweborg) Blucker. He married Sandra Kaye Cannon, September 5, 1964, in Galesburg.
Surviving is his wife of almost 58 years, Sandy K. Blucker of Galesburg, a son, Douglas A. (and Carolyn) Blucker of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, two daughters, Susan A. (and Scott) Peet of Abingdon, Illinois and Melissa A. (and Tim) Cramer of Knoxville, Illinois, eight grandchildren, Cole Blucker, Wade (and Cayla) Blucker, Aunna (and Carlton) Stripe, Ashley (and Chris) Sonnenberg, Allison (and Austin) Borop, Titus Cramer, August Cramer, and Elon Cramer, and seven great grandchildren, Ivy, Cedar, Emery, Judah, Avery, Isla, and Cora. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and sister-in-law, Donald Blucker and his wife Betty Blucker.
Dale graduated from Galesburg High School in 1955. He served in the United States Army Reserve. He later graduated from Knox College and attended Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was the comptroller at Knox College for several years. Dale later was a CPA for several accounting firms in the Galesburg area including Gauger and Deihl, and Wehrmeister and Kamerer before becoming a partner of Blucker, Kneer and Associates Accounting Firm in Galesburg. He was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg. He was the church treasurer, a member of the choir, and served as a Deacon and Elder of his church. Dale enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Lake Bracken and Soangetaha Country Clubs. He was a season ticket holder for over 50 years for Galesburg High School Basketball games. He also enjoyed watching his favorite baseball team, the Chicago Cubs. He was a member of the Galesburg Exchange Club and served on the Galesburg Rescue Mission Board. Dale was well known in the Galesburg community and will be missed by his family and friends.
As Dale requested, cremation will be accorded. A visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Bethel Baptist Church, 1196 N. Academy St., Galesburg. A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2022, at the church. Rev. Lee Johnson will officiate. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church or Galesburg Rescue Mission.
