William Henry Channon, Sr, age 88, of Geneva, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025, after a long illness, with his loving family by his side.

He was born December 19, 1936, in Quincy, Illinois, the son of John and Marjorie (Thompson) Channon.

William was the beloved husband of Sally; loving father of William H. Jr. (Marikay) and Kenneth M. (Holly); cherished grandfather of Max, Audrey (Jack) Walters, Emilie, and Connor; and dear twin brother of Harry.

He graduated from Knox College in Galesburg, where he majored in mathematics and met his wife. He later completed Artillery OCS at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, and proudly served over 25 years in the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.

William worked in financial management for 25 years at Molex Inc. in Lisle. He loved spending time with his family and golfing. He was a charter member of Cress Creek Country Club and, after retirement, enjoyed golfing year-round in Arizona and at Sycamore Golf Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services for William will be held privately.

Burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
