He is survived by loving son Steve (Naomi) Channon of Cody, Wyoming, daughter Lorraine (Joe) Atterbury of Thermopolis, Wyoming.
Stepdaughters Janis (Jim) Scott of Hawthorne, Nevada, Jeanette Childress of Wellington, Florida as well as Stepson David Wynn of Reno, Nevada.
Granddaughter Corinna (Jo-Jo) Riccio of Hawthorne, Nevada, Grandson Brian Scott of Las Vegas, Nevada, Great Grandson Broedi Riccio, Great Granddaughter Jovie Riccio and Great, Great Granddaughter Amelia also of Hawthorne, Nevada.
Derek was a kind and giving man, loved by everyone he met. He lived a full life working in the Mines until he retired and then fulfilled his hobbies of fishing, golfing and leisure activities. He was a world traveler and lived life to the fullest, he will be missed and treasured in our hearts forever.
Memorial services will be held in Hawthorne, Nevada on September 6, 2024
