Alice M. Stalzer, 88, of Humboldt, formerly of Livermore, passed away peacefully at home on September 29, 2025.

Alice was born January 1, 1937 at her grandparents’ home in Meeker County, MN, the daughter of Nicholas J. and Mary (Hilbert) Klein. She was raised in the rural area of Watkins, MN until the fall of 1940 when her parents moved to Iowa on a farm north of Livermore. As a farm child she had several chores including milking her cow twice a day. Alice graduated from the Livermore High School in May of 1954. On November 20, 1956 she was united in marriage to Harry J. Stalzer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livermore. The couple made their home on a farm near Renwick, where they had two children, Marjorie and Dennis. In February 1963 they moved into their new home, where they had two daughters, Lori and Judy. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, canning, collecting stamps, embroidering and playing cards. Alice did home daycare for multiple families for several years. The couple started their own business in 1977, Harry’s Refrigeration Service, and Alice was the receptionist and bookkeeper. In 1979 they built their own store and the business is still thriving today. Both Alice and Harry enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and spending time with their family. During the summer months each grandchild would have their special week with Grandma, where a favorite activity was making and eating her famous chocolate chip cookies. Alice was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was treasurer of the Ladies Guild and of Friends and Neighbors. Alice was also a member of the Honeybee Quilter’s Club. She moved to Humboldt in September 2023 to live with her daughter, Lori.

Alice is survived by her children, Marge (Randy) King of Rapid City, SD, Lori (Gary) Pedersen of Humboldt and Judy (Alan) Green of Des Moines; grandchildren, Justin and Tyler King, Lisa (Wade) Satern, Nicholas (Tasha), Michael (Samantha), and Benjamin Pedersen, Lindsey (Luke) Peterson, Joshua, Jacob and Ashley Green; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Yvonne Awe, Marlene Albus, Jean Nelson and Leverna (Roy) Sturm and sister-in-law Gladys Stalzer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harry; son Denny; sisters Mary Evelyn Kellner and Marilyn Klein; brothers Edwin and Allen Klein and several brothers and sisters-in-law.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, October 6, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Humboldt. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Sunday, October 5th with a rosary starting at 3:45pm and a parish wake service at 6:45 pm at Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Livermore. For those wishing to give a donation, please send to the Mt.
