Alice L. Strunk

MORTON – Alice Louise (Allie Lou) Keighin Strunk passed away peacefully with family at her bedside on Saturday morning, March 28, 2026.

Allie Lou was born on November 27, 1926, in Pontiac, Illinois, to Charles and Lillian Keighin. She married Robert Strunk in September of 1948 in Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death. Daughter, Debbie (David) Kelone, also preceded her in death and she is survived by her son, Gregory (Peggy) Strunk of Phoenix, Arizona. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Casey (Teresa) Strunk, Jessie (Nels) VanPeursem, Chelsea Strunk, and Emily (Mark) Aiman, as well as six great grandchildren, Liam Strunk, Wyatt and Ethan Van Peursem, Maggie and Rachel Strunk, and Conner Aiman. Her sister, Phylis Dupress of Sarasota, Florida preceded her in death and she is survived by her brother, Bill Keighin of Lakewood, Colorado.

Allie Lou graduated from Morton High School in 1944. She attended University of Illinois, where she was a member of Pi Bet Phi sorority and Shorter Board, a senior honorary. She graduated from Bradley University. She received a teaching degree while raising her two children and taught elementary school at Rolling Acres for over 25 years.

Allie Lou was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria and resided at Lutheran Hillside Village. She passed away quietly and because of her deep faith, she was ready to go to her eternal home in heaven. She was loved by all who knew her and will be remembered for her infectious laughter and immense kindness to others. She truly lived her life with class and left us with grace and dignity. She was a wonderful example to her family.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Lutheran Hillside Village Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., prior to the service at 11 a.m. and reception at 12 noon.

Memorials may be made to Lutheran Hillside Village Benevolent Fund in Peoria, Illinois.
