Alice "Jean" Kehling Willenberg slipped gently into her Heavenly Father’s arms on January 14, 2026, after 87 years of life, faith and service. She was born on July 16, 1938, in Indianapolis to Edward A. Kehling and Hazel V. King. Born and raised in Indianapolis, Jean remained a proud Hoosier throughout her life. She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1956. She was the Honored Queen of Bethel #23 in 1956. She attended Butler University where she earned B.S. degree in 1960 and her M.S. degree in 1967. She was a lifelong member of Alpha Chi Omega. She taught at Harry E. Wood High School for 5 years in the Business Education Department.

She became the wife of Ivan L. Willenberg (deceased) in 1960. She took time off to raise her children. She later returned to the business world as secretary at the Indiana Fair Grounds, Hook’s Drugs, Inc., and Medi-Span. While at Hook’s, she was the Director of Volunteers with School #59 in the Partners in Education program.

She was the glue which held her family together. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was an educator, secretary, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Ever the tireless worker, organizer, and friend, she was a homemaker, and party arranger who often opened her home to bridge parties and holiday gatherings. She had a tender and caring heart for whom laughter in life came easily. In addition to passionately loving her family, she showered her love on others through her many friends and neighbors.

Jean and her husband Ivan had a deep abiding faith in Christ which guided their family. They belonged to Lawrence United Methodist Church for 32 years. They more recently belonged to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Carmel for 23 years. Jean served at the church as teacher, greeter, liturgist, Co-chairman of Worship, and many other capacities. She enjoyed nature, gardening, and especially growing roses, feeding the birds, time at the lake, babies, little toddler people, bridge, social activities, Book Club and parties of all kinds. She was an avid Colts fan.

Jean is predeceased by her loving husband Ivan and her parents Edward and Hazel Kehling.

Jean is survived by son Mark E. Willenberg, daughter Laura J. Willenberg Baldridge (Bruce), and Grandson Christopher E. Willenberg (Leslie), and Great Grandson Lincoln R. Willenberg.

A visitation for Alice Jean Kehling Willenberg will be held 11-1pm January 23rd , 2026 with a service to follow at 1pm all to take place at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 4780 E. 126th St. Carmel, Indiana.

In lieu of flower the family asks that memorial donations to be made to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church or the ALS Association.
