Obituary
Eugenia Maxine "Mitzie" Willenberg passed away peacefully on May 26, 2023 at home in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She was 92 years old. She was born on November 19, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri. Mitzi's's faith was strong as was her love of God. She was comforted deeply by saying her rosary and she was confident in what comes after this life. She was immensely proud of her family and would speak highly on everyone's accomplishments to all who would listen. She loved to talk and could talk for hours on end about everything and nothing simultaneously but she always held your attention and had the greatest stories which she remembered with such clarity. Mitzie knew her way around the kitchen and was especially good at baking, with all her family loving her cookies and pumpkin bread the most. She is survived by Walter, husband of 71 years, son Doug, daughter Mary Harbin (Steve), daughter-in-law Barbara, grandchildren Gena Buchan (Wattie), Emily Rusgrove, James Hardwick (Allison), and great-grandchildren Remy Willenberg, Caroline and Asa Rusgrove, and Maya Hardwick. She is predeceased by son Walter "Buddy", parents Stanley and Gladys Schodrowski, sister Patricia Ruminer (Ray), niece and nephew Ruth and Ray Ruminer, and grandson-in-law Michael Rusgrove. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 5th, 2023, at 11:15 a.m., at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis, Missouri. Cremation under the direction of River Glenn Cremation and Funeral Services.
