Alicia M. Garcia, 96, of McAllen, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025. Born on May 24, 1929, in New Gulf, Texas, Alicia devoted her life to God, her family, and a calling to serve others.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marcos Garcia, with whom she shared a lifelong devotion to Christ and a mission to spread His word. Together, Alicia and Marcos dedicated their lives to ministry, traveling across the United States and abroad. They served Spanish-speaking congregations, worked closely with migrant families, taught English, and shared Biblical teachings with all those in need.
Alicia was also preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Agustina Montoya, and her siblings Arturo, Pablo, and Hector. She was also predeceased by her three adopted sons-Fernando, Moises, and Jonas.
She is survived by her loving child, Jacob Garcia, her wonderful daughter-in-law, Lupita, whom she loved very much; her brother, Carlos; and her sister, Carmen. Alicia was a proud grandmother of eight, great-grandmother of six, and was joyfully anticipating the arrival of her first great-great-grandchild.
Her faith was unwavering. Until her final days, Alicia continued to pray and read her Bible. She was a woman of deep love, compassion, and strength, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Now in His glory, Alicia is sitting beside the throne, singing praises as she so often did in life. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
"See, I am sending an angel before you to protect you on your journey and lead you safely to the place I have prepared for you." - Exodus 23:20
