Alicia Urquidez passed away on December 29, 2025. She was born on July 10, 1948, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Alberto and Maria Urquidez. Alicia never married and had no children, yet she was the beloved matriarch of her family. Her loved siblings were David, Enedina, Elva, Elias, Rita, Luis, Flavia, and Elisabeth. At age 16, Alicia moved to California, where she worked long days in the fields while attending school at night to earn her G.E.D. After leaving field work, she pursued a business career and spent 36 years as an instructor at the Center for Employment Training (C.E.T.), helping countless individuals build better futures. In 2009, she was honored by the California Farm Workers for her distinguished public service.
Alicia was known for her strength, honesty, and generosity. She enjoyed barbecuing, traveling, keeping a pristine yard, and hosting friends and family. A devoted animal lover, she supported rescue organizations and adored her dog, Pepper.
Alicia's guidance, love, and unwavering presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
