Dear Family & Friends:
I am so pleased to inform you that I have moved. I received a call from God, the Chief Architect, on Saturday, October 26, 2024, 6:55 p.m. and He informed me that my new home was complete.
For those of you who know me you know that I have been working on my building all of my life, sending up my timber. I didn't realize it would take 97 years of packing up and getting ready to eventually go. I knew that my mansion needed some finishing touches, and that the Chief Carpenter, Jesus Christ, had to inspect it and give a final approval. With excitement I received my ANGELIC wings and ENTERED into the pearly gates!
My earthly home was located at 3552 Forest Chapel Road, Pamplin, Virginia for a number of years. My new address is so much better; there is so much peace here, joy, happiness, no pain, and no more medicine, and no more doctors!!!!!
Let me give you my new address because I highly recommend you make plans to live here too:
Alimond Odell Chambers

God's Town, Heaven 12620
P.S. I do not have a phone yet, but you can always call God. If you don't have His telephone number, read your Bible. He is listed on every page.
I was born on Thursday, September 22, 1927 to the late Dimple and Annie Walker being the seventh of eight children born to this union. They all have preceded me earning their wings; Neal, Bolden, William, Ernest, Ethel, Ealdon, and Estelle. I attended school in Appomattox County.
Christ was accepted into my life at a very early age and I joined the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where I remained loyal and faithful until my health declined yet keeping abreast of all church functions. I served in many capacities; Kitchen Committee, Sexton, Senior Choir, Ladies Aid, Pastor's Aid and was honored to be "Mother of the Church". My civic organizations that I worked with were Appomattox Branch NAACP where I served as Treasurer. I am also proud to be one of the founding members of The Appomattox County Assembly, Inc., and held the position of Chaplin and board member. I spearheaded many plate sales fundraisers to help build the Carver-Price Cultural Center, owned and operated by The Appomattox County Assembly, Inc.
On Saturday, July 22, 1944 I united into holy matrimony to Spencer Lee Chambers. To our union seven children were born, two of which are deceased, Oliver and Monroe and two grandchildren, India and Towana.
I did domestic work for Lawyer R.H. Gray and then 22 years I worked for Appomattox Garment Company until retirement. My enjoyment included preparing meals for my family, playing dominos, crossword puzzles, spending time with my loved ones, sewing and reading my Bible most of all.
To continue my legacy are my children: Eugene, Viola Shaw, Lorenzo (Del) Harry and Milton (Frances) and daughter-in-love Lucille. I am blessed to have 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. I must not forget the many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors whom I am leaving behind. Weeping may last for the night, but joy comes in the morning. I love you all!
