Alisha Gsell Obituary

Gsell, 47, devoted daughter, sister, and aunt passed away December 1, after a
brief illness.
Alisha was a graduate of Florida State University in elementary education and
earned a Master's degree in library science from the University of South
Florida. She was an employee of the Hillsborough County School District since
1999.
She was predeceased by her father Gary Gsell, maternal and paternal
grandparents, as well as a cousin Nicholas Posada.
She is survived by her mother Maria Gsell (Ted Murray), brother Michael Gsell
(Todd Frary), sister Christine Redfearn (Timothy), niece Meredith Redfearn,
nephew Michael Redfearn, and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Alisha found joy in family traditions, spending time as YaYa to Meredith and
Michael, her newfound love of exercise, and sharing her passion for reading
with our book club and with her students. She loved her Lord, her church and
co-led her women's Bible study.
Visitation will be held from 6pm to 7pm on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview, FL 33578. A memorial service will begin at 7pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to bookslikemeinc.org. This group donated over a hundred books to Alisha's school library.

I just learned of Alisha´s passing. I was very shocked and saddened by the news. She was one of the sweetest souls I had the privilege of knowing. We were friends at Brandon High School through band/squad. We also worked for YMCA Latchkey at Limona Elementary
School together following high school. Her kindness, love for children, and sweet spirit will be dearly missed. Until we meet again, my friend. Love, Heather

I met Alisha at a dance fitness class in Sarasota. We learned that we both graduated from Brandon High and had an immediate connection. She was just so nice! I looked forward to seeing her at each class and was so proud of her commitment. She drove an hour each way. We have a small group of "dance friends" and dance together during the class. She talked about her family and her kids as school. I know how much she loved them. My last text to her was "Can't wait to see you back at dance!" I really miss her. I'm so sorry for the loss the family is enduring.

Alisha was dedicated... to her family, to her job and to herself. She was the best cheerleader and supporter. She will be missed by many.
