Allan Wayne Bussey

A private family memorial service for Allan Wayne Bussey, 65, of Tyler will be held at a later date. Mr. Bussey passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025, in Tyler. He was born October 27, 1959, in Longview to Charles M. and Agnes Bussey. Allan graduated from Longview High School in 1978 and attended East Texas State University in Commerce. He had a long-standing profession of 48 years with Brookshire Grocery Company. Allan began his career with BGC in June of 1976. He promoted to Assistant Store Manager in 1983 and then promoted to Store Director in 1989. His career included stores in Arkansas, Mississippi, and Texas. He was a national award-FMI (Food Marketing Institute) Grand Prize Winner-in the 2011 Store Manager Awards program. He won the Bruce G. Brookshire Legendary Service Hall of Fame Award in August 2012. At that time, this was BGC's most prestigious award for partners. In May 2000, Arkadelphians chose Store No. 96 for six People's Choice Awards in The Daily Siftings Herald, the newspaper for Clark County, Arkansas. He won first place as the favorite store manager. Allan was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving family including his sisters, Debbie Mayberry and husband David of Longview and Patsy Bussey of Longview; brother, Steve Bussey and wife Margie of Gilmer; and nephews, CD Mayberry of White Oak and Matthew Mayberry of Ft.
