Marilyn B. Bussey

Marilyn B. Watson,77, of Bloomfield, CT, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025, under hospice care at Kimberly Hall. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 3, 1947; she was the older twin by two minutes to the late Willie Lee Bussey and Louise (Bell) Bussey. Her family moved to Waterbury at the age of two. Marilyn was a proud product of the Waterbury School System, attending Driggs School and graduating from Wilby High School. Marilyn held various positions within the retail world, as well as working for the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, and the Judicial Office of Court Reporter for a short period of time. Marilyn was a bright, energetic individual with a love for people and life. Her free spirit made her easy to love and cherish and her memory will last forever. She was a very hard-worker and was full of ambition. She was passionate about singing and in her teen years she was a member of the hometown group the Fi Quentaes which included herself, her twin sister, Madelyn Pittman, Karol Barnes, Yolanda (Bacon) Brown, and Tanya Johnson. Some of her favorite artists included Aretha Franklin, The Marvelettes, Ronettes, and Tony!, Toni!, Tone'! She also loved to write poetry. Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory, her only child, Carmen Cotton (Nathaniel, Sr.); grandsons, Wiliam and Nathaniel, Jr.; and one granddaughter, Desarae, all of Bloomfield, CT, as well as a host of nieces and nephews and cousins. Marilyn was predeceased by her twin sister, Madelyn Pittman, and only brother, Muhammed Rasheed. The family of Ms.Marilyn B.
