Allan Cabbagestalk was born May 30, 1959, in Washington, DC, to the late James Jr and Minnie Lee Cabbagestalk. He was educated in Washington, DC, and Kershaw County South Carolina public schools. He was an honor student throughout his educational journey. He attended the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and Allen University in Columbia SC. Allan was a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity.
Allan was baptized at Tenth Street Baptist in Washington, DC. After moving to South Carolina, he became a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Bishopville SC.
