Publish in a newspaper

Allan Don Ehrhart, 71, of Lutz, FL passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025. "Al" was born on Aug 5, 1954, in Great Lakes, Illinois and spent his younger years in Palatine, Illinois. He moved to Tampa, FL in 1987.

Al was a Physical Damage Specialist with USAA and retired in 2018 after 36 years of dedicated service.

A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Al's faith was the cornerstone of his life. For decades, he shared his extraordinary musical talents as a member of his church praise band, uplifting thousands with his gift. A master of many instruments, Al was especially renowned for his skill on the bass guitar, which became a hallmark of his legacy in the community.

Al's passions included cheering for the Chicago Bears, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and of course his beloved Cubs. Al enjoyed golfing, NASCAR and cherished adventures on the water and in nature. He loved riding his Harley, boating and "glamping" in their RV throughout the Blue Ridge Mountains with his wife and friends.

Al and Peggy created wonderful memories filled with laughter and camaraderie with many amazing friends. Al and Peggy were on the praise team at their churches throughout their marriage. Al was a member of The Edison's, a local band that played a variety of clubs and private events for over 20 years. Above all, Al treasured time spent with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Allan Ralph Ehrhart, his two brothers, Dave Ehrhart and Steve "Buzz" Ehrhart and his stepfather, Ray Steinbeck.

Al is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Peggy Ehrhart; his daughter, Renee Biggs, and her children Bryce and Audrey; his son, Brian Ehrhart, and Brian's partner Kayla Lingener, their daughter Charlotte, and Kayla's children Kurina and Chase, his stepson, Adam, and his wife Becky, and their children Cooper, Stella, Madelynn, and Eliza. Al is also survived by his mother, Barbara Holmes Steinbeck; his brother Brian Ehrhart and sister, Laura Vion; Stepsister Jenny Burklow (Jim); Stepbrothers Steve Steinbeck, Tim Steinbeck, Bill Steinbeck and his many loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Al's warmth, faith, and rock-n-roll spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. A Celebration of Life honoring Al will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Bay Hope Church, Lakeshore Campus, 17030 Lakeshore Road, Lutz, FL 33558.

The gathering begins at 12:00 PM, followed by a service at 12:30 PM, with a reception to follow. A livestream link is available
