Reese Allan Gilbert, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 18, 2026, at his home. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.
Allan was born August 21, 1940, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Howard Eugene Gilbert and Vera Jardine Gilbert. He grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
On September 14, 1962, he married Linda Cooper in Iona, Idaho. They had four children, Kathy, LeAnn, Scott, and Julie. They were later divorced. Allan worked as a farmer for many years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed farming, fishing, flying, and shooting. He loved to get out on Sunday drives. He most especially enjoyed time spent with family.
Allan is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Lew) Kelso of Millville, UT; daughter, LeAnn (Rod) Harris of Ammon, ID; son, Scott (Jenna) Gilbert of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Julie (Jerry) Severe of Terreton, ID; sister, Joyce Sylvester of Idaho Falls, ID; and sister, Lois Baxter of Idaho Falls, ID brother, Brad Gilbert of Idaho Falls, ID; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Vera Gilbert, and sister, Shirley Sams.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue, and Saturday from 10:00 am to 10:45 am. Burial will be in the Cache-Clawson Cemetery.
