Allan F Ryder passed away unexpectantly due to an accidental death on Little Sebago Lake on September 9, 2025 in the town of Windham, Maine. At the time of his passing he was 78 years old. He lived on the lake with Pat Niboli his long time partner of over 40 years. He was born May 11, 1947 in Watertown, Wisconsin. He was predeceased by this mother Lila, his father Floyd Ryder along with two brothers Sylvan Ryder and Bruce Ryder. He is survived by his longtime partner Pat Niboli, his sister Suzanne Vincent, brother-in-law Gerald Vincent of Slinger Wisconsin and several niece and nephews. He was a military veteran having served 21 years in the US Navy as a Machinist Mate Senior Chief Petty officer and retired in 1986.. His last deployment was on the submarine USS Will Rogers. He was a passionate reader of World War II history and enjoyed water activities such as sailing and motor boating. Al had a special place in his heart for dogs and was able to easily connect with our four-legged friends who were abused and help them feel love again – a true dog whisper. He always put others before himself and was a very gentle and compassionate person. He loved socializing with his friends in particular participating in Fantasy Football which he and his best friend Bobby started as a league 20 years ago. He enjoyed his beloved Green Day Packers and got much enjoyment watching them play football. Al is and will be missed by all those who knew him, particularly all of the friends in the "Hood". The family wishes to thank the Town of Windham's Police department, Fire department, Rescue services and Game Wardens for their thorough participation and compassionate care during this difficult time. A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future and posted with the location, date and time on email, text and social media. In lieu of gifts or flowers, donations can be made in his name to: Riding to the Top, 14 Lilac Drive, Windham, Maine 04062.
