Allen Dale Abernathy, 58, of Cooper Rd., died January 4, 2019 at Atrium Health-Lincoln. He was born in Lincoln County on October 2, 1960, a son of the late Morris John Abernathy and Emmie Morrison Abernathy of Vale. He was a handyman and carpenter who enjoyed carp fishing and hunting. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Dwayne Abernathy. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Megan Nicole Abernathy of the home; son, Bobby Dale Abernathy of MN; sister, Connie Hoyle and husband, Stumpy of Vale; and brother, John David Abernathy and wife, Roxanne of Vale. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at North Brook Baptist Church at 3:00 PM with Rev. Bob Wise and Rev. Travis Elmore officiating. Burial will follow in Hull's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the home. Memorials may be made to the funeral home. Condolences may be made to www.carpentersfuneralhome.net
