Think about Al frequently. He was unforgettable. He lives on in his sons and daughter!

Al taught me classical history, mentored me as a young Loomis faculty member, and gave me life-long lessons during our dinners out and trips to see Yale vs. Princeton basketball games. I shall miss Al's good humor and great story telling. I think we even convinced some LC students that we were holding a "selection" process one year on the second floor of Founders. He truly wanted his students to experience history. I shall miss Al and will toast him with a Manhattan!

Al was a dear friend for over fifty years. Many of my fondest memories are of fishing with him on dozens of lakes in Connecticut and at Cape Cod. We never forgot that he caught a 42-inch striper from my boat in Hamburg Cove. When I had my saddest moments in 1984, he was my greatest comforter and has remained so. I will always remember the Allyn-Wolcott football and basketball games and our experience with Varsity Baseball, especially the final Kent game. I send my love to Barbara, Seth, Will, Susan, and Charlotte.

Mr. Beebe was my freshman history teacher and quite the character. He had a sense of humor, and was an engaging teacher. I remember helping him with some projects at his house freshman year and always enjoying our conversations. He will be missed.

Allen was an unforgettable teacher and coach. His intellect, wit, and passion were hallmarks of this remarkable man. He taught me a great deal about commitment, hard work and fair play. Although a fierce competitor, it was all about the "team," giving your all and having fun. I truly relished our too infrequent meetings as the years flew by. Barbara ,Will, Seth and Susan - hold on to good memories .
Much love,

Mr. Beebe was a beloved teacher of mine at Loomis Chaffee. I am now a history teacher myself and I credit Mr. Beebe's passionate, entertaining, erudite teaching style with sparking my own love of history. (I only wish I could find the "I saw 'Gunga Din' with ARB" t-shirt that he gave me.) I feel lucky to have known this excellent man and am very sorry to learn of his passing. My thoughts are with his family, especially his son, Seth, who was my basketball coach and a mentor to me in high school.
