Allen Thomas Burgette, 77, of Durham passed Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Duke Hock Family Pavilion. Allen was born April 23,1948 in Fayetteville, NC to the late John Thomas and Lue Dellar Lockamy Burgette.
In addition to his parents, Allen is predeceased by his son John Burgette and grandson John Michael Burgette; brother Garry Burgette; sisters, Geraldine Horne, Jean Daniels, and Annie Lou Guy.
Allen is survived by his wife of 36 years Denise Burgette; sons, Tyler Burgette (Kimberly) of Franklinton, NC, Thomas Horne (Chastity) of Fayetteville, NC; daughters, Cindy Keck (Justin), Hayley Craig (Brett), all of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Krista McKenzie (Brandon), Matthew Keck (Jamie), Michael Keck, Joseph Keck, Jonathan Downey (Lindsey), Thomas Horne, Jr. (Peyton), Trevor Horne, Osiah Craig, Arahbella Craig, Kameron Denton, Kaden Denton, Takeisha Thomas (Bailey), Emily Davis and Leslie Lunsford; great grandchildren, Easton McKenzie, Sailor Keck, Spencer Keck, Waylon Laws, Paisley Keck, Aislynn Keck, Jaylin Downey, Jameson Downey Thomas Horne, III, Ronan Thomas and Trey Thomas; brother, Jimmy Burgette; sister, Doris Walters (Jimmy).
Allen dedicated 54 years of his life to the milk industry, beginning his career at Borden Milk in Fayetteville, NC, and later working with Flavor Rich, Hunter Farms, and Maola in Durham, NC. He was a passionate UNC and Dallas Cowboys fan and a devoted follower of NASCAR, especially as a proud supporter of Dale Earnhardt Sr.
Allen and his wife, Denise, cherished their time together on the water, enjoying countless trips to Falls Lake every summer for boating and fishing. Allen treasured time with his family, especially going on family vacations to the mountains. Allen loved his fur baby, Moses.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Duke Hock Family Pavilion.
A visitation will be held Saturday May 31, 2025, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend Glenn Davis.
