John Michael Burgette, 37 of Fayetteville, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023, at UNC Hospital.
Born in Cumberland County, he is preceded in death by his father, John Alton Burgette.
He is survived by his grandparents, Fred and Melba Lunsford, who raised him as their son; mother, Melissa Durham; brother, Leslie Lunsford; sister, Keisha Thomas and husband Bailey; half-sister, Emily Davis; paternal grandmother, Barbara Jackson; paternal grandfather, Allen Burgette; aunts, Thelma Johnson and husband Jeremy, Toni Lunsford “Aunt Pinky”, Cindy Keck and husband Justin, and Hayley Burgette; uncles, Thomas Horne and wife Chasity, and Tyler Burgette; nephews, Ronan Thomas and Trey Thomas; cousins, Carmen Johnson, Chance Johnson, Nova Ledford, Krista McKenzie, Joseph Keck, Thomas Horne, II, and Trevor Horne.
John was a computer genius. He loved working on electronics and loved working on cars. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan. John lost his battle to cancer, but he won his final battle and is resting in the arms of Jesus. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
