Mr. Allen ‘Neal’ Floyd, 88, of Green Acres Road, Elberton, husband of 61 years to the late Brenda Ruth Adams Floyd, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Hartwell Health & Rehab.

Neal was born in Hartwell on June 14, 1937, son of the late Jasper Floyd and Annie Evelyn Blair Floyd. He was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church and retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation where he worked as a road superintendent. Never one to stay idle, Neal was very mechanical minded. He enjoyed working on chainsaws and lawnmowers. Neal loved watching hummingbirds, and looked forward to feeding them each year. 

Surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Harry Burt and Janet Floyd of Elberton; sister, Carol Waters Richardson of Calhoun Falls; brother-in-law, James B. “Buddy” Adams, Jr. of Elberton; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 14, from 10:00-10:45a.m. at New Bethel United Methodist Church. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Richard Jarvis, will follow at 11:00a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Flowers are accepted, and contributions may be made in Neal’s memory to New Bethel United Methodist Church, c/o Treasurer, 2703 Guy Wilson Road, Elberton, GA 30635.
