James Allen Jenkins, known affectionately as "Allen" or "Daddy", passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the age of 53 in Louisville, Kentucky. Professionally Allen was an employee for Zeon Chemical Company for almost 30 years. Allen's passions were his children, family and friends; the ocean and sunshine on his face; cars, boats, motorcycles; fine attire and accessories; Colombian music, reading Motor Trend and Consumer Reports; watching Star Wars and Disney movies with his children. He loved being with family and especially nights along side the Toro family campfire.
Allen is preceded in death by his grandparents, Phil and Viola Furman; Clyde and Martha Jenkins; as well as beloved Uncle Jim Jenkins.
Allen leaves behind a legacy of love as a father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Allen was the father to two special and beautiful children, Alyssa Anne Jenkins and Ty Allen Jenkins. He was a cherished son to Henry and Diane Jenkins; brother to Elizabeth and Cesar Toro; uncle to Niko and Santiago Toro; family friend to Shellie and Brad Harmon; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243 and on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 3pm to 5pm. A celebration of Allen's life will follow at the funeral home at 5pm.
