Allen Langford Obituary

Allen Langford

July 15, 1955 - August 12, 2025

Palmetto, Florida - Allen Langford, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. A lifelong resident of Palmetto, Allen was the son of Fred and Patricia Langford. He graduated from Palmetto High School and Emory University, where he made lifelong friendships he treasured.

Allen shared 49 wonderful years with his wife, Judy, building a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Together they raised two children and welcomed three grandchildren, who he adored.

Allen loved his career in banking and valued the colleagues and clients he worked alongside over the years. Deeply committed to his community, he served through numerous professional and service organizations, including the Rotary Club of Palmetto.

He found joy in traveling, fishing, hunting, cheering on the Florida Gators, and spending time with friends and family. Allen will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, and care for those around him. He is loved deeply and will be missed by many. A private memorial will be held.

I first worked for Fred Langford at Palmetto Federal Savings and Loan in the 80's. I was pleasantly surprised to meet Allen Langford in the 2000's at Leo Mills & Associates. I spoke to him quite frequently. So sad. He was very pleasant and well respected. Palmetto will miss him.

Dear Judy and family,
May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. Alan was a wonderful human with a big heart. Our kids went to school together, we were fellow Rotarians and he was a dear friend. I will really miss our friendship. One on my fondest memories of Alan is we had a group of Rotarian's that traveled to Guatemala on our Rotary International Service Project. 5 of us bunked in a cabin with no electricity. Alan had the top bunk, Harry had the bottom bunk with his cpap machine hooked up to a car battery, lol. The rest of us were on small homemade beds or the floor. Dave slept with a noise machine so all night we listened to the waves come out of this small battery powered player. Alan woke up the following and said to Dave, "will you turn that thing off! I had to pee all night and couldn´t get down from this bunk." We all broke out in laughter. I caught my one and only sail fish on this trip thanks to Alan & Harry.
So many fun memories.
He will be greatly missed by so many!
RIP Alan Langford.

My deepest condolences. Allen was fine person and great member of the Palmetto community. When I was teaching at Palmetto High, I would often call on him for his insight on banking and finance that I would use in my economics courses. He was always eager to offer his knowledge and experience. His contributions were important to students learning economics. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

A wonderful, lifelong friend, Big Al, has gone on to his eternal home. So many good times and wonderful memories will last in our hearts forever. From sandlot football and paper routes as kids to UF/FSU football games and hunting trips as adults, Allen was one of the kindest and most caring friends one could ask for. He will be forever missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace my friend! Lovingly, Jim, Sandy, Ansley and Austin.

I am so saddened by this news. Alan was great to work for at Florida First Bank. I have great memories of him coming into the Palmetto Office and just sitting there talking to me about customers, Palmetto and banking. I remember when he introduced me to his Father Fred and another great guy. I will miss Alan he was kind and friends with everyone. I am praying for the family for God's Peace in their hearts.
