Mr. Allen Shepherd, 58, of Traphill, NC departed this life on January 02, 2025 at the Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin, NC. Born June 18, 1966 in Hazard, KY, he was the son of the late Arnold and Ivacean Shepherd.
Allen spent the majority of his life in Letcher County. He was an easy-going man who loved all things outdoors. From fishing to hunting, he lived most of his life in the mountains.
He also loved his family and friends, especially his two children, Cody and Breanna. He wanted nothing more than to be surrounded by the people he loved, laughing and making memories.
Allen was a talented musician, he spent many years singing and playing bluegrass music with his brothers Delbert and Winfred. He was a man of many talents and had many fans.
He lived an adventurous life, cherishing every moment and making the most out of life. Whether in a deer stand, on the lake, or on a stage. Allen will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and loved ones.
In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by one brother Winfred Shepherd.
Allen leaves behind his cherished children, one son Cody Shepherd, and daughter Breanna Stidham & her husband Andrew; his special little buddy, Julia Mitchell and one brother Delbert Shepherd. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive his passing.
Friends and family may gather for visitation from 5p.m. - 8p.m. Wednesday evening at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home in Hyden. Cremation will follow the services.
Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home
