Allen Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home on Dec. 15, 2025.
Allen Ray Smith was born June 29, 1952, and passed away December 14, 2025, at the age of 73.

A man of few words, Allen was known for his quiet strength, steady presence, and unwavering work ethic. He showed his love not through grand gestures, but through dedication, loyalty, and being there for those who mattered most. His family was the center of his life, and he took great pride in being a husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Allen worked many years in the shipyard and construction industries, where he was respected for his reliability and strong work ethic. He was also a proud United States Navy veteran, having served his country with honor.

Allen found joy in the simple things, fishing trips with his sons, watching movies, and listening to rock 'n' roll music. Those moments, spent quietly and meaningfully, were the ones he cherished most.

A man of faith, Allen was a member of First Baptist Church of Bridge City, Texas, where he found comfort and community.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susan Smith; sons, Jason Smith and Christopher Smith and wife Ashley; granddaughters, Sydney Smith and Allie Smith and fiancé Logan Adams; and along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death his parents, Wilfred and Essie Smith; and sisters, Nora Collins, and Geneva Reed.

Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 20, 2025, at First Baptist Church, 200 West Round Bunch Road Bridge City, Texas. Reverend Keith Royal will be officiating. Interment to follow at Autumn Oaks Cemetery, Orange, Texas.
