Allen "Alley" Sutter

Allen "Alley" Sutter, 81, Minot, died Monday, January 20, 2025, in his home.
Allen Edwin was born on August 1, 1943 in Minot, ND to Edwin and Lydia (Gartner) Sutter. He was raised and educated in Sawyer. He attended Sawyer High School.
Allen was united in marriage to Karen Beeter on June 18, 1965 in Minot. This union was blessed with two children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
On May 1, 1976 they started Alley's Radiator and Repair in Minot. He worked hand and hand with Karen for the next 28 years, retiring in 2004 as their son Stacy assumed operation of the business.
They spent their retirement years going to Apache Junction, AZ in the winter, driving their motorhome to visit family in WA, and spending summers at their lake cabin at Strawberry Lake and later at Lake Audubon, where they enjoyed summer nights, fires, friends and endless laughs and memories.
Karen died December 31, 2021. He continued to live in Minot. Most recently he became a resident of The View.
Alley was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Minot and The Moose Lodge. He will be remembered for his ability to fix anything he touched, his quick and relentless wit, love of his family and his ability to make anyone a friend at any time.
Alley's loving family includes his daughter Karla Thompson, Granville, son, Stacy (Vickie) Sutter, Minot, grandchildren Hadley (Tate) Magilke, Denbigh, ND, Harleigh (Spencer) Adolphson, Park Rapids, MN, Ryder Thompson, Hazen, ND, Logan (MaCartney Hamel) Sutter and Megan (Damian Begg) Sutter, all of Minot, great-grandchildren Britt Magilke, Coulee Magilke and Olivia Adolphson; sisters-in-law Connie Anderson, rural Minot, Kathy (James) Tofteland, Minot, Donna (Barry) Schlosser, Logan and Darla (Bill) Felber, Surrey, ND; brother-in-law Clint (Karen) Beeter, Logan along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Alley was preceded in death by his parents, wife Karen, brother Otto, sisters Helen Ellsworth, Ruby Ellsworth and Eileen Tofteland and son-in-law Russell Thompson.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot (Summer 2025)
Visitation: Wednesday, January 29th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
