She was born November 24, 1936, in Union County to Charles Lonnie and Minnie Frisby.
She attended school in Grady and moved to Pine Bluff in 1949.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a wonderful homemaker.
Allie had worked in Watson Chapel and White Hall school cafeteria and was a friend to all she met.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend John L. Gates, Sr., whom she married on October 9, 1954, in White Hall; a granddaughter, Hannah Leann Gates Roberts, and a grandson, Bubba Gates.
Survivors include her children, Monica Gates, Robert (Pearlleta) Gates, Marshall (Rhonda) Gates, John L. Gates, Jr., Buddy Gates, Christopher W. (Wendy Brady) Gates, Mary (Bruce) Small, Terry Cox; sisters, Floyce Waters, Sussie Maxey and eighteen grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, 9 to 10 a.m. at Robinson's.
Funeral service will be Friday, May 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Ralph Robinson & Son with Brother Ferrel West officiating.
Burial will be private.
