Allison Tucker Gruder of Fairfield, CT passed away on September 11, 2024. Allison was born on October 15, 1969 in Brooklyn, NY and was raised by her late parents Sandra and Arnold Tucker in Coram, NY. Allison attended SUNY New Paltz and completed an undergraduate degree in psychology. It was not until Allison relocated to Fairfield, CT to complete her master's degree at Fairfield University, that she met her husband, Kenneth Gruder. Allison and Kenny were married on April 30, 1995 and became inseparable, always hand in hand. Allison and Kenny created a beautiful family of five, working hard to put all three children, Ari, Shayna, and Noah, through college and graduate programs. Thanks to the strong work ethic Allison instilled in her children, she was able to witness and enjoy her children beginning and thriving in their careers.
Allison was a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with a successful private practice dedicated to helping others. Allison went above and beyond in her career as a mental health professional, evidenced by the thousands of people and families to which she devoted herself. Allison was a lifelong learner, never hesitating to advance her career by completing additional certifications. Reading, knitting, painting, and fitness were just a few of the hobbies Allison loved with a passion. Allison had an effortless way of making others feel welcomed and valued, paired with a smile that lit up each room she entered. A beautiful service was held at Chabad of Westport on September 12, to honor the wonderful life Allison had lived. The interment was held at Rodeph Sholom Cemetery in Fairfield, CT.
Allison will be so deeply missed by her husband, Kenny, their three children, Ari, Shayna, Noah, and her sister Brittany Tucker Fenkel, who all vow to continue helping others in Allison's memory.
