Allison Fred Tucker, 83, of 896 Standish Road, Saranac, NY, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, at the University of Vermont Medical Center, with his devoted wife by his side. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 12:00PM at Frary Funeral Home, Malone. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 10:00AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Burke Center Cemetery. A reception will be held after at the Westville Volunteer Fire Department.

He was born on September 28, 1941, in Burke, NY, to the late Fletcher Tucker and Nancy Langford. He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Robert.

Allison was married to Lois Robinson on November 5, 1960, and together they shared 27 years of marriage and raised two children, Kim Hammill (with her companion Gerald Debien) and Dan Tucker (with his wife Sharon). He was later married to Linda Defayette on July 31, 2005, who survives him. Allison was also a stepfather to Jeffrey Lozier.

He was the proud grandfather of Derek Hammill (with his fiancée Kaitlin Cutry), Jason Hammill (with his girlfriend Hanna Colgrove), Amanda Sayles (with her husband Joshua Sayles), and Katie Tucker (with her fiancé Matthew Abbeduto), as well as Tylar Cross (with her husband Aaron), granddaughter by his second marriage. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Rory and Eliza Hammill.

Allison lived a full and active life. He was a skilled machinist, having learned his trade at the GM factory in Massena, later running the machine shop at Schonbek's in Plattsburgh, and eventually operating his own shop in the Adirondacks.

He enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found riding his Harley, snowmobiling, camping, hunting, or tending to his beloved trails in the Adirondack woods. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, whether it was camping, canoeing, playing poker for peanuts, or cheering on their activities.

A man dedicated to his community, Allison served as Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 108 in Westville, was a longtime volunteer fireman, and volunteered his skills as handyman for the Lyon Mountain church. He was a man of faith, quietly devoted, and respected the beliefs of others.

In addition to his work and volunteer efforts, Allison will be remembered for his toughness, his belief in finishing what you start, and the lessons he passed down to family, friends, and the many young people he mentored.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and Hope Lodge, 237 East Ave, Burlington, VT 05401 whose support and care during Allison's illness was deeply appreciated by his family.

Sad to hear of my long ago scoutmasters passing. He taught us many of life´s most important lessons, by example. Among them were, effort along with patience equals results. The precious reward of trust that must be earned by your character. Stay calm and don´t overreact. Have fun and follow the golden rule. Thank you Allison for volunteering and being a mentor to Troop 108. You made a difference and left the world a better place. Happy Trails.... Ron Lester
