It is with deep sorrow and abiding love that we announce the passing of Allyson Jordan Danuser, on April 8th 2025-- a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, cherished daughter and sister, and passionate educator whose life was marked by compassion, perseverance, and a heart full of grace.
Allyson's journey in education began humbly-driving a school bus, making sure students got to school safely every day. But her calling was always the classroom. Through determination, study, and heart, she became a dedicated and respected 7th grade math teacher, inspiring her students not just to learn, but to believe in themselves. Her classroom was filled with encouragement, patience, and genuine care, and her legacy lives on in the many young lives she touched.
She was the devoted wife of Eric Danuser, with whom she shared a deep and meaningful partnership rooted in mutual respect, laughter, and unwavering love.
Allyson was the proud mother of Sarah Fortner, Cody Fortner, William Fortner and Jessie Fortner, children from a previous marriage to Andy Fortner, whom she raised with fierce love and devotion. Her role as a mother was one of her greatest joys and proudest accomplishments.
She was also a deeply loving grandmother to, Jameson Fortner, and Alayna Blizzard, and her bond with each of them was filled with warmth, wisdom, and endless affection.
Allyson is survived by her parents, Bill and Suzanne Jordan; her brother, John Jordan; and her sister, Katie West. She remained closely connected to her family throughout her life, always offering strength, guidance, and unconditional love.
Even as she faced the hardships of cancer, Allyson never lost her spirit. She met every challenge with courage, humor, and grace. Her love for her family and her students remained her guiding force to the very end.
From school bus driver to trusted teacher, from devoted mother to loving wife and grandmother, Allyson Danuser's life was one of growth, love, and unwavering service to others. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was, and always will be, deeply loved.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 11 from 6–8 PM at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA. Funeral services will be held 1 PM on Saturday, at the funeral home with burial following in Bethany Cemetery, 7800 Croaker Road, Williamsburg, VA.
