Alma Book Obituary
Alma moved to California, where she lived for several years. She returned to her mom's home in Harlan, Iowa in the 1970's, and eventually settled at Country Care Center in rural Harlan for close to 30 years. She worked at CDS during her time in Harlan.
Alma moved to Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids, Iowa for few a years before moving to St. Anthony's Nursing Home in Carroll, Iowa, where her daughter worked. Alma passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, attaining the age of ninety-two years, one month and twelve days. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Becky Simons and Jacob Simons, her siblings Alfred Book, Edmond Book, Margaret Book, Leona Book, Marilyn Fritz, and Mildred Smartt.
She is survived by her daughter Mary (Jerry) Schultes of Audubon, Iowa; 5 grandchildren, Justin (Amy) Schultes, Alicia Simons, Luke (Kelli) Schultes, Amy (Jerry) Brewer, Mike Schultes, 14 great grandchildren; other family members and friends.
