Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral services for Mrs. Alma Lee Brown, age 86, who passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Memorial Health in Savannah after an extended illness. She was a longtime resident of Toombs County and a twenty-year retiree of Hazlehurst Manufacturing in Lyons. After retiring from Hazlehurst Manufacturing Alma worked as the restaurant manager for The Country Pantry in Lyons until her retirement in 2016. She loved to read, sew, cook, and spend time with family and friends.
Preceding her in death is her husband of fifty-eight years, Harry F. Brown; parents, Bonnie D., and Thelma Haire; brothers, Colon Haire, J.D. Haire, Berle Haire, and Robert Haire.
Surviving is her daughter, Bonnie Bailey of Vidalia; sister, Margaret McGee (Pete) of Alamo; sister-in-law, Audrey Kennedy (DeWayne) of Glennville, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 1 until 2 P.M. at Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home in Vidalia.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 2:30 P.M. at the Lyons City Cemetery with Reverend Trent Akins officiating.
Active Pallbearers are Gerald Blocker, Earl Boyette, Clint Harp, Johnny Lanier, Danny Nobles, and Jim Lacklin.
Flowers will be accepted, or a memorial contribution may be made to the National Kidney Foundation at kidney.org.
Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory of Baxley is in charge of the arrangements.
