Riverwood Chapel ~ Memorial Service on behalf of Alma Rose Yoxthimer
MUNROE FALLS - Alma Rose Yoxthimer, 86, passed away peacefully July 1, 2025, and is now home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was born in Jellico, TN, and was a resident of Munroe Falls since 1970. Rose was a medical claims processor for many years, retiring in 2001. She got to know the claimants and showed compassion as they shared their health issues. Rose attended Riverwood Chapel in Kent. She loved the old hymns and used to sing in the choir at the Akron Baptist Temple and The Chapel of Prayer. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing euchre and cheering on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Even though she didn’t have a lot of money, Rose was extremely generous to her kids and grandkids. You could not outgive Rose! Her love language was cooking. She was always making dinner and dessert for her family. She made the best lemon meringue pie and could make gravy out of anything!
Rose was preceded in death by husband, Virgil Yoxthimer; son, James Yoxthimer; parents, William and Ruby Enix; sister, Ritha Cottrell and brother, Charles Enix. She is survived by her children, Ginger (Ken) Schaber and Bill (Jody) Yoxthimer; daughter-in-law, Deanna Yoxthimer; grandchildren, Brandon (Melinda) Schaber, Lisa (Joe) Hill, John Yoxthimer and fiancé, Lauren, Danielle Yoxthimer and Jason Yoxthimer; sister, Betty (Jerry) Bush; brother, Dale (Janie) Enix and four great-grandchildren, Kaci, Caspian, Elijah and Emma.
The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care. Rose grew to love her aide, Lucy. All of the nurses and aides that assisted us were wonderful!
Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 PM, Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, 44224. Pastor Jeff Haynes will conduct her memorial service at 10 AM, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Riverwood Chapel, 1407 Fairchild Avenue, Kent, 44240.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care, 3743 Boettler Oaks Drive, Suite E, Uniontown, OH 44685.
