ALVENA “SPARKY” PATTERSON
May 22, 1930 ˜ September 15, 2023

Alvena “Sparky” Patterson, age 93, of Vancouver, WA, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 15, 2023. She loved everyone she came into contact with and was a friend to all. She had a special place in her heart for children, especially during her many years working in church nurseries.
Alvena is survived by her son, Paul Patterson (June); her niece, Roberta Jones; her grandson, Steven Patterson (Kirsten); her granddaughter, Tami Risner (Tom); her great-grandsons, Cameron Risner, Blake Patterson, and Heath Patterson; and her great-granddaughter, Lorelai Risner. She is also survived by her niece, Donna Rudy, and her sister-in-law, Norma Patterson.
Alvena was preceded in death by her father, Ted Patterson; her mother, Mamie Patterson; her sisters, Joanne Prichard and Loretta Patterson; and her brothers, Lowell Patterson and Jack Patterson.
During her career, Alvena served as a church nursery attendant and worked as a production planner and expeditor for an orthodontist manufacturer.
Alvena enjoyed sewing, gardening, and traveling in her free time. She found great joy in these hobbies, which brought her peace and fulfillment.
Services to celebrate Alvena’s life will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Sept. 25, 2023. Visitation will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by the service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The graveside ceremony will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The cemetery is located at 1101 NE 112th Ave., Vancouver, WA 98684.
There will be a reception immediately following the graveside ceremony service at Real Life Church, located at 8100 E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver, WA 98664.
“Sparky” lived a life loving the Lord and will be missed by all her family and friends.
