Alvin Thomas Cope was called to be with the Lord on July 12, 2025. Born in Colorado Springs on February 19,1946 and graduated from Palmer High School in 1964.

A.T. started at the El Paso County Sheriff's office in 1968 and would be sworn into duty by CSPD in March 1970. While working for CSPD he was an undercover narcotics agent, bomb squad, patrolman and part of the motorcycle unit.

A.T. was the longest serving officer in the history of the CSPD; a legacy characterized by his honesty, kindness, uplifting attitude and willingness to always help someone in need. He was an amazing father, coach, role model, teacher and friend. He is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter Leevaughn, sons Martin, Andy (deceased), Scott and Dave; his brothers Fred and Jim and 10 grandchildren.

A.T. loved to fish and hunt the ever-elusive elk and work on his 'Hot Rod'. His passion was family and he loved the Lord. We'll miss you forever Pops.

Please Join family and friends as we celebrate the life of A.T. Cope at Evergreen Funeral Home on Saturday, August 23rd at 10 am.

If you'd like to send a gift, the family is suggesting a tribute in memory of A.T. to an Alzheimer's Association of any choice.
