Alvin E Weidman

On May 6, 2025, Alvin was called home to join his beloved wife, Sally in heaven. He was 90 years old and died peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Alvin was born on February 22, 1935 in Pigeon, Michigan to Emma M (Staehli) and Wesley Weidman. He graduated from Pigeon High School in Pigeon, MI in 1952. On June 30, 1956 he married Sally Ann Gorte, the love of his life. They went on to have four children; Randal, Rick (Cathy), Patti and Sandi; grandchildren Jessica (Ben) Lehnerer, Joshua (Erica) Weidman, Erie Clement, Robert Weidman and Staci Weidman; great-grandchildren Cheyanne Weidman; Benson, Holden and Madison Lehnerer; Lenni and one on the way due in December (Joshua and Erica).
Alvin loved being a father, grandfather, and great grandfather most of all. He also was a mentor of sorts to many and became known as "Pops". In his spare time when he wasn't on a golf course, he also enjoyed playing cards, making casino trips with friends and family, deer hunting with his son's and bowling. He was a longtime active member of the United Methodist Church in Whitmore Lake, MI where he and Sally were married at in 1956.
Alvin also leaves behind two surviving sisters, Alberta Ruth Wolfe and Betty A Parsell and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters and their husbands, El Donna (Harold) Parsell, Viola (Lloyd) Borkholder and Eileen (Elmer) Herman and brother-in-laws, Lloyd Wolfe, Carl Parsell and Roger P Gorte; and Grandson Randal Weidman.
Alvin made friends wherever he went. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
He has been cremated and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 15th at the Methodist Church on the lake in Whitmore Lake. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 with his service at 2:00 pm. Please join us afterwards for fellowship and dessert in the fellowship hall. Casual or golf attire please.
