Alvina Amelia Sedwick

Alvina Amelia Sedwick (Leichner), of Cape Coral, Florida. Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, was called home to be with our Lord on Monday, January 6, 2025 at the age of 95 years young. The daughter of the late Alexander and Amelia (Schempf) on March 25, 1929, in Saginaw, Michigan. Alvina married Edwin Jack Sedwick on October 30, 1948. He predeceased her August 1, 2003.
Alvina was a loving mother who enjoyed being with family and friends in all types of celebrations and fun. She had a passion for music and dancing, and staying in touch with everyone through Facebook. She enjoyed playing games on her tablet and watching Hallmark Movies. She was a devoted church member and thanked God for "always taking care of her."
Surviving are her three daughters, Diann Dow, (wife of Bruce Dow), Kathy Wight, (wife of Thomas Wight), and Jennette Ruszkowski, (wife of Kenneth Ruszkowski). Her grandchildren, Heather Dow, Jackie (Wight) Hackworth, Jeremy Dow, Marty Wight, Erica (Ruszkowski) Pease, Katy (Ruszkowski) Lynch; and her great-grandchildren, Chesney Wight, Riley Hackworth, Connor Dow-West, Mia Hackworth, Sheldon Wight, Joseph Lynch and Brennan Pease, along with several close nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert, Dave, Alex, Victor Leichner, and Lydia (Leichner) Sagady.
Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. For all who would like to share in her Celebration of Life, a service will take place on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 1:00pm at Christ Lutheran Church, which has recently moved to Messiah Lutheran Church, 2691 Pine Island Road Cape Coral, Fl 33909. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to express their sympathies are asked to consider a memorial to your favorite charity.
