Funeral service for Alvina Walker, age 78, of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at South Liberty Baptist Church with Bro. Halston Potts officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Everhart, John Selph, Matt Walker, Nathan Gaddis, Kenneth Martin, Jonathan Gaddis, Donny Gaddis, and Bobby Gaddis. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at South Liberty Baptist Church. Alvina passed away at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
Alvina Fay Walker was born on March 3, 1947 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to William Alvis and Carrie Mae (Freeman) Walker. Alvina worked in various capacities at area nursing homes for over 37 years. She once worked 17 years straight without missing a day of work which showed her commitment and compassion to those she served. Alvina was an active member of the South Liberty Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs.
Alvina is survived by her brother, Billy Walker; sister, Linda Walker; brother, Donald Walker; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
