Amanda Danner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Santa Cruz Memorial Funeral Home - Mission Chapel on Mar. 12, 2026.
Amanda A. Danner passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2nd at 81 years old, surrounded by her loving family. A beloved mother and grandmother, Amanda is survived by her son Arthur and his wife Leila, her son Andrew and his wife Christie, and six grandchildren: Mattie, Quinn, Dawson, Henry, Dillon and Dustin.

Amanda was born in Chicago, Illinois to second-generation Italian parents and graduated from the University of Illinois. She moved to the Monterey Bay area in 1967 with her young family where she lived for over 50 years, raising her family on the west side of Santa Cruz. She moved to Scotts Valley and met her soulmate, Terry Guy, her loving and caring partner for over 25 years.

Where to even begin to highlight what Amanda Danner was all about? The most caring, selfless, giving person on earth. Amanda never made herself the priority, she was a giver and constantly doted over her six grandchildren and was always there for her two sons. It cannot be put into mere words on how she lived her life with caring and love. She was a beautiful woman and person in all ways possible, and if there is a hall of fame for moms, she is an easy inductee.

Amanda was a constant in her grandchildren's lives, never missing an event whether it be musical, graduation or the hundreds of sporting events. Amanda was their #1 fan and was always the first in the stands to support them.

The world is a better place with the influence and legacy of Amanda Danner. She will be missed by her family and always cherished with love, and her strength of character will be passed on to generations that follow.

In lieu of a ceremony, friends are invited to donate to the wonderful local Santa Cruz County Hospice organization in her name.
