Amanda Ford Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Legacy Funeral Home, Wasilla Heritage Chapel on Mar. 3, 2026.
On the early morning of January 29th, Amanda Ford, a 46-year-old Wasilla resident, lost a short battle to stage 4 metastatic gastric cancer.

Amanda's life began in Fresno, California, on December 31st, 1979. She experienced a difficult childhood with the loss of her mother, siblings, and father at a young age. She met her husband, Clint, when she lived with her grandma, Anita.

They spent their early years of marriage in Colorado before following Amanda's dream to move to Alaska. In 2012, she made the move and fell in love with the state. She quickly became an outdoorswoman who loved fishing, boating, hiking, and riding in their side by side.

She was a driven worker, creating two businesses. Amanda loved creativity, art, and crafting with her husband. She built a thriving business as a taxi driver with Alaska Frontier Taxi. She was a beloved taxi driver for over 10 years, supporting friends, family, and strangers throughout the Valley.

Amanda was a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 25 years, Clint Ford, and her two daughters, Kayleana Ford and Anastasia McShea. Amanda was also an adoring Grams to her 8 beloved grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at Evangelos at 5 PM on March 28th.

For her final request, her ashes will be spread in the Little Su to ride the white water rapids one final time.
