With a heavy heart, our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend went home to be with our Lord and Savior. Amanda Lynn Rivas, age 44, passed away in Odessa, TX June 4, 2024, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born October 19, 1979, in Odessa, TX to Eduardo Sr and Gloria Sanchez. Amanda married Juan Rivas Sr. on May 24, 2003, in Monahans, TX and they spent 26 wonderful
years together until her passing.
She was the life of the party and a light of everyday life. She knew no strangers and loved with
all her heart. Always with a smile on her face no matter how she felt and made sure everyone
around her was happy.
Amanda was preceded in death by her angel baby; father, Eduardo Sanchez Sr.; mother, Gloria
Sanchez; sister, Connie Arredondo; father-in-law, Cruz Rivas Sr.; mother-in-law, Elvinia Rivas; and
brother-in-law, Cruz Rivas Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband, Juan Rivas Sr.; her son, Juan Rivas Jr. and wife, Andrianna;
her daughters, Issabel Rivas and Andrea Rivas; her siblings, David Arredondo, Eduardo Jr. &
Tammy Sanchez, Ruben & Rachel Garcia, Salvador & Tonya Sanchez, Emilio Sr. & Elida
Juarez, Ismael Rivas, and Alfredo Rivas; her 3 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, her grandpuppies, Bella & Coco; extended family, and many, many friends.
Visitation for Amanda will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM at Harkey Funeral Home. Another visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 6:00 Pm at Harkey Funeral Home. A Rosary is scheduled for Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 7:00 PM at St John the Apostle & Evangelist Catholic Church. Mass is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at St John the Apostle & Evangelist Catholic Church with burial to follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
